1. What Flexo Does

Flexo is a Chrome extension that helps users improve spelling, grammar, clarity and writing style directly inside text fields on websites. The extension only processes text after an explicit action from the user, such as pressing Ctrl + Enter.

2. Information We Process

When you request a correction, Flexo processes only the text necessary to generate the requested result. This text is securely transmitted to OpenAI's API in order to provide writing suggestions and improvements.

Flexo does not collect your browsing history, passwords, payment information or the contents of websites beyond the text you explicitly choose to improve.

3. Local Storage

Flexo uses Chrome's Storage API to save a limited number of user preferences locally on your device, including:

• Your selected writing tone
• Extension preferences required for normal operation

These settings remain on your device and are used solely to improve your experience.

4. Third-Party Services

To provide its core functionality, Flexo securely sends the submitted text to OpenAI's API for processing. The transmitted data is used only to generate the requested writing improvement.

5. Data Usage

Flexo does not:

• Sell your personal information.
• Use your data for advertising.
• Create advertising profiles.
• Track your browsing activity across websites.

Data is processed solely to provide the writing assistance requested by the user.

6. Permissions

Flexo requires permission to access web pages because it operates directly inside editable text fields across websites. This permission is used exclusively to detect editable text areas and provide writing assistance when requested.

7. Security

Communications between Flexo, its backend services and OpenAI are performed over encrypted HTTPS connections. Reasonable technical measures are used to protect transmitted information.

8. Your Control

You decide when Flexo is used. The extension only processes text after an explicit user action.
